Best agentic AppSec platforms: who governs coding agents and who lets agents do the AppSec work

Short answer

Agentic AppSec has two halves: governing software that AI coding agents write, and using agents to triage, prioritize and fix findings. On our published weights Legit Security leads at 8.80 out of 10, followed by Cycode at 7.70 and Endor Labs at 7.60. Legit Security trails on Policy and audit and Pricing.

What are the two jobs of agentic AppSec?

Govern what agents build

Coding agents write code, install packages, run shell commands and call MCP servers. Governing them means knowing which agents, models and MCP servers are in use, and allowing, steering or blocking what they do, at the endpoint, in the IDE or at the pull request.

The aim is to show agents the right path, not just block the wrong one.

Let agents do AppSec work

The same platforms now ship agents of their own: triage agents that rank findings by reachability or business context, and remediation agents that write the fix. The useful questions are what each agent fixes, where the fix lands and whether the vendor says it is checked.

We score both halves. Three agent governance criteria carry 25% together and agentic remediation 20%; triage, SDLC policy, orchestration, named agent reach and pricing make up the rest. Scoring method

A filled node means the vendor's own pages describe a control at that point. It does not measure how well the control works.

7 of 10 ranked platforms document a control on the coding agent itself; 6 of 10 document an agent or AI feature that writes the fix.

We score how well each platform governs software built with AI coding agents and how much AppSec work its own agents take on, using public vendor pages, changelogs and standards documents read in September 2026 and updated on 11 October 2026. Frequently asked questions

What is agentic AppSec?

Agentic AppSec is application security for a software process in which AI agents take part. It covers two things: controls on the coding agents that write and change code, and AI agents inside the AppSec platform that triage, prioritize and fix findings. The AppSec course explains both.

Which agentic AppSec platform ranks first?

On our published weights, Legit Security ranks first at 8.80 out of 10, followed by Cycode and Endor Labs. The agent risk calculator re-ranks the platforms on your own weights and the agents you run.

Do agentic AppSec platforms replace SAST and SCA?

No. Every platform here still scans code at commit and pull request. Agent controls reduce what goes wrong while the agent works, and fix agents act on findings that scanners produce.
